The Growing Shadow of Mortality
As I age, thoughts of mortality cast a longer shadow. My declining senses, once vibrant and sharp, now create a growing distance between me and the world. This disconnect has led me to ponder the profound questions of life and death, and what might lie beyond.

Knowing Without Knowing
I believe there's more to existence than what's immediately apparent. This concept, which I call "knowing without knowing," first dawned on me around 1977. It's a sense of intuitive understanding, a gut feeling that guides me even when I can't explain why.

Signs and Messages
My intuition often manifests in unexpected ways. For example, while studying plants, I can instinctively sense which ones are toxic, even if I haven't encountered them before. This ability also extends to music and other areas of my life.
I've also experienced what I believe are signs from beyond. The appearance of hundreds of four-leaf clovers after my friend John Madden's passing, and the sightings of bluebirds following my mother's death, felt like personal messages from the other side.
The Mystical Mind
I find the mystical fascinating and believe there's truth to it. Tonight, as I contemplate mortality and the afterlife, these thoughts feel particularly close and tangible. The experiences I've had suggest that there may be a form of individual communication from beyond, a way for loved ones to reach out even after they're gone.
As I continue to navigate the complexities of life and the ever-present shadow of mortality, I find solace in the belief that there is more to existence than what meets the eye. The experiences I've shared in this blog are just a glimpse into the mysterious depths of the human spirit and the potential for connection beyond our physical realm.
